Festival of the Lion King Reopens With CHANGES in Disney World

Festival of the Lion King in Disney’s Animal Kingdom hasn’t been the same since it reopened as A Celebration of the Festival of the Lion King in 2021.

The modified show, though, recently closed temporarily as Disney prepared to bring it back as the Festival of the Lion King guests knew before the park closures. That meant that several elements of the show would finally return for the first time since 2020.

Now, the show has reopened, and the Tumble Monkeys are back! The gymnasts have returned to perform with Timon during “Hakuna Matata.”

They’re back!

We were so excited to see their incredible stunts again!

The Acrobatic Birds have returned to the show, too! You can catch them during the “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” segment of the show.

Of course, this does mean that the show’s runtime might be a little longer, but audiences are sure to be entertained as usual.

Their performance is so beautiful!

Want to catch the show? This one is pretty popular and had some long lines when we visited the show — be sure to get in line early for performances. Or you can purchase Disney Genie+ to access the show’s Lightning Lane. Showtimes are available on the My Disney Experience app.

While you’re in Animal Kingdom, be sure to check out the recently updated Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…And Beyond show, too! Those showtimes can also be found in the My Disney Experience app.
